Modelling of Business Processes (BPM) and Future Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Container Terminal Bilbao
Challenge
CSP (previously Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao) decided to migrate to a new Terminal Operating System (TOS) for both container terminals in Valencia and Bilbao. After the successful completion of the BPM & SOP project for Valencia, HPC modelled the current (“As-Is”) and future (“To-Be”) Business Processes in BPMN 2.0 on level 2 plus the future SOP for Bilbao.
Tasks Performed
- Stakeholder interviews and workshops with management and key users
- Elaborated “As-Is” landscapes for business processes and the IT system with consecutive business process modelling
- Identified operational bottlenecks and improvement potentials aligned with CSP’s strategy and vision
- Decision-making workshops with the management team and set-up of “To-Be” landscapes for business processes and IT systems with consecutive “To-Be” business process modelling
- Elaborated the SOPs for the “To-Be” process landscape
Benefit
HPC helped CSP’s management to realistically estimate the efforts required and to understand the need for change management on the way to a successful TOS implementation.
