IT Strategy for the new MPS Container Terminal in Tema

Challenge

As the largest container terminal in Ghana, MPS is jointly operated by APM Terminals and Bolloré Ports. In 2016, the works for constructing a new port with a container terminal in Tema started, the terminal due to open in 2019. MPS asked HPC for support in defining an overall IT strategy for the new terminal, considering the transition from the existing facility to the new one.

Tasks Performed

  • Business process management on level 2
  • Requirements engineering and IT specification for 11 operational and administrative systems
  • IT hardware and networking concept
  • IT strategy roadmap covering project implementation schedule, cost estimates and HR requirements

Benefit
