Information Services for Ports and Terminals
Challenge
This project has been a sub-activity of the Masterplan Digitization of Inland Waterways (DIWA). The study's objective was to describe the business developments for port and terminal information systems with a focus on the services, information processes and requirements related to traffic, transport and logistics.
Tasks Performed
- Inventory focusing on relevant services and information requirements related to assorted inland waterway ports and terminals
- For the identified processes and IT systems, outline a target scenario to be designed under the assumption of a greenfield approach
- Gap analysis and derived measures to reach the target scenario, considering risks and implications for a realistic implementation framework
Benefit
The client was able to identify and prioritize relevant services for the inland waterways of participating countries and derive an action plan to implement them.
