Study on the Ability of Latin American West Coast Ports to Handle 400m+ Ships

The Challenge

Angamos Port called for a brief study on the next 400 meter ships that could arrive at the west coast of Latin America, Chile and the Port of Angamos. The ports maintaining the conditions to receive vessels of that size were of particular interest.

Tasks Performed

  • Assessed information received and made initial recommendationsResearch on purchase orders for vessels from 2017 onwards, with a capacity in excess of 18,000 TEU
  • Identification of ports on Latin America’s west coast with the capacity to handle vessel loads of more than 18,000 TEU
  • Summary concluding valuable details for port developments

Benefit
