Employee Logistics Training for Airbus China Logistics Centre in the Tianjin Free Trade Zone

Challenge

The project, conducted by HPTI (now part of HPC) and FZH Fortbildungszentrum Hafen Hamburg, aimed to provide comprehensive logistics training for future Airbus plant staff in Tianjin. The training targeted white-collar (supervisors/managers) and blue-collar (shop floor employees) groups, focusing on essential work processes, skills, and supply chain management. It included theoretical knowledge in warehouse and production logistics, practical certifications like forklift driving and lashing, and a detailed introduction to the client’s specific logistics operations. Soft skills development was also a key component of the training.

Tasks Performed

  • Design and conception of training materials
  • Training in supply chain management for white collar staff
  • Training in warehouse and production logistics for white and blue-collar staff
  • Training in management skills, soft skills and ERP systems
  • Supervision of the trainees’ individual progress

Benefit

By partnering with HPC, Airbus benefitted from tailored logistics training that equipped their future Tianjin plant staff with essential skills and certifications. This ensured efficient operations from day one, enhancing productivity and adherence to specific logistics processes unique to Airbus.
