
Assistance in Commissioning a Mobile Harbour Crane for HHLA Frucht- und Kühl-Zentrum
Challenge
HHLA Frucht- und Kühlzentrum engaged HPC to support their project team in procuring a mobile harbour crane for Hamburg's O'Swaldkai terminal. The crane, a Terex/Gottwald HMK 4406 model built in 2013, had been stored disassembled at the port of Antwerp after not being accepted by its original client. HPC was tasked with coordinating the commissioning of the crane in Hamburg, working closely with the client to manage all associated responsibilities.
Tasks Performed
- Checked the purchase contract and informed the Client of missing topics
- Prepared a checklist for commissioning
- Coordinated approvals by the responsible authorities involved
- Made sure that the mobile harbour crane meets the required safety regulations
- Rendered technical assistance and supervised the crane’s erection and commissioning at the Client’s site
