The National Ports Master Plan’s overall objective was to provide a strategic proposal for the integrated development of Egypt’s commercial ports. The Master Plan considered each port's competitive advantages and forecasted future demand until 2030.
Tasks Performed
- Assessed existing situation and development perspectives
- Evaluated economic growth perspectives for Egypt and its ports
- Market and competition analyses for the different ports’ markets
- Commodity forecasts for the individual ports till 2030
- Assessed technical & operational capacity and development needs for required future port, terminal and berth capacities for different development alternatives
- Evaluated required investments & financial profitability of development proposals
