Specification of an Alternative Energy Supply for Contecar

Challenge

In recent years, Contecar has invested in electrical equipment for its flagship terminal to reduce local emissions and save costs. However, the public grid needs more stability to provide sufficient power at all times. HPC was assigned to find an efficient, sustainable and viable solution to overcome Contecar's power shortage in the next five to ten years.

Tasks Performed

• Assessed alternatives and selected optimal power supply and buffering option
• Feasibility study for the desired option (concept plan) 
• Developed implementation plan including an energy management system

Benefit

With their study and implementation plan, HPC supported Contecar in operating with greater assurance in its electrical power supply for up to 10 years, benefitting the environment and offering sufficient reefer plugs for its clients.
