Challenge

With the establishment of economic zones (EZ), the BEZA aimed to provide a suitable business environment and associated infrastructure conducive to investors seeking additional and/or alternative locations for their business. The Client commissioned HPC to assess the suitability of the two proposed EZ locations, Jaliardip and Narayanganj, for the utilization by business facilities on a pre-feasibility level. The entire Jaliardip Island in southern Bangladesh is designated as an economic zone for tourism, while the Narayanganj economic zone near Dhaka is dedicated to the textile industry.
