Strategy Study for Ceyhan Port

Challenge

Operating Turkey’s largest coal terminal located in Ceyhan, Toros had experienced competition between terminals and lost throughput volumes of coal and cement. HPC was appointed to examine market prospects for the terminal.

Tasks Performed

• Strategic analysis for different cargo types (liquid and dry bulk, general cargo, etc.)
• Elaborated commodity-specific traffic forecasts and determined and analysed the current port capacity
• Elaborated port development opportunities
• Determined high-level investment (CAPEX) requirements and elaborated a phasing plan for terminal development in stages
• Financial analysis
