My HPC Experience
Hello, my name is Haakon, and I’m currently training as a trainee in Digitalization Management at HHLA. When I began my apprenticeship, I was paired with a mentor: Sven Daniels, who is a Partner at HPC.
As part of the training at HHLA, apprentices go through various departments within the company, including its subsidiaries. That’s how I ended up at HPC. On the one hand, I was inspired by my mentor, and on the other, I was curious to learn how port consulting intersects with IT.
By now, I’ve had several assignments at HPC, each time exploring a new area. For example, I supported the Office Management team in selecting and migrating a collaboration management system. On another project, I helped create a freelancer database. Additionally, I was able to apply my Python skills to aggregate ship port call data.
Currently, I’m particularly involved in Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence, assisting colleagues on various projects, including the development of Qlik applications.
Why do I keep coming back to HPC? It’s the respectful and inclusive environment that truly stands out, regardless of seniority or position. On top of that, the ever-changing and exciting tasks continuously challenge me, helping me grow. And let’s not forget the open culture, with its desk-sharing concept and After Work Thursdays!
If you’re looking for a place to learn, contribute, and thrive, HPC is where you want to be!
