Sustainability

People, sea and air – we care!

For the maritime industry worldwide, environmental sustainability has become an important topic not only to meet increasingly strict regulations but also as a means of improving profitability. Significant environmental improvements as well as energy and cost-saving potentials can be achieved by optimising processes, adopting energy-efficient technologies and using renewable energy sources. At the same time, ports and terminals may improve their “green” image by reducing emissions that may lead to an improved corporate image. Fostering energy sustainability can thus be essential for obtaining and strengthening a leadership position for ports.

Despite the increasing importance of improving the energy sustainability in ports, there is currently a high level of uncertainty amongst the terminal operators and port authorities to find the most promising measures to achieve this aim. We therefore assist ports, intermodal terminals and airports in improving both their environmental and economic sustainability and thus achieve a so-called “green transformation”.

Why HPC?

Along our track record of successfully delivered 1,600+ projects spanning six continents, we bring proven methodologies and practical insights in improving operational efficiency and productivity in ports but also deep expertise in sustainability issues. HPC is at the forefront of innovation related to operational and sustainability excellence through the day-to-day experiences gained, also through our parent company’s operations, which are recognised as leading sustainability initiatives. Based on extensive experience in this field, we have been able to support numerous ports and terminals worldwide in establishing a reliable, cost-effective and sustainable mode of operation.
