Akbar Djohan, CEO of Krakatau International Port (KIP), said that with the target of increasing ships stopping from 800 to 5,000 ships/year by 2026 at KIP Port, the development of infrastructure facilities and KIP superstructure has become very important.
"For the development of infrastructure facilities and superstructures of KIP to be more maximal, KIP took steps to cooperate with PT MMI to ensure this development can run well," Akbar said at Wisma Baja on Thursday (11/25/2021). He said KIP partners with PT MMI to assist in order to ensure this development runs optimally from the feasibility study process to the funding process, until the implementation of the development.
"The KIP effort is also to capture the potential of the existing market in the Sunda Strait. This is a serious step, and we prepare the development of KIP port to have more complete facilities for consumer needs so that we can provide the best service for consumers," Akbar said.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held at Wisma Baja Jakarta (11/25/2021), which was attended by KIP CEO Akbar Djohan and President Director of PT Melchers Melindo Indonesia (PT MMI) Michael Gruss. Meanwhile, President Director of PT MMI Michael Gruss said that KIP's trust in MMI to accompany the development of KIP port is very good for MMI.
"We are very happy to be trusted to accompany the development of KIP's largest bulk port. We are ready to help and ensure that the development efforts of KIP go smoothly so that the best service goals for KIP consumers can be achieved," Michael Gruss said.
