HPC is delighted to announce that Dr Lawrence Henesey has been appointed Vice President for North America. Lawrence, who holds a PhD in Computer Science and an assistant professorship in Artificial Intelligence at the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden, brings comprehensive know-how in port management, digitalization and automation.
He has been working for nearly 30 years in the port industry, working with influential organizations such as APMT, PSA, Hutchison Port Holdings, DP World and other global terminal operators in automation and electrification technologies such as AGVs, ASCs, automated cranes, RTGs and RMGs. In addition, he has worked on projects in simulation, TOS, applied A.I. and other IT-related projects.
"Given the increasing importance of AI and new technologies in the port industry, we are excited to strengthen our team with Dr Lawrence Henesey, a proven expert who combines domain knowledge with applied technology expertise", said Suheil Mahayni, Managing Director at HPC. "As Vice President, he will focus on driving digital transformation, especially for our customers in North America."
The position was previously held on an interim basis by Pablo Bowen, who can now refocus on Latin America & Caribbean.
