HPC prepared Master Plan for Swedish Port of Helsingborg
Due to substantial developments and fluctuations in cargo volumes, Port of Helsingborg has been looking for future development options in response to the demand of increased productivity and forecasted growth. At the same time they wished to return former port areas to the city for residential development.
Together with partnering civil engineers from Ramboll Sweden, HPC analysed the port’s current cargo handling capacity, developments from the shipping lines’ perspective and looked into future trends within the industry, both commercially and technologically. Furthermore, we focused on the Client’s strategic development options, assessing market developments and exterior influencing factors. HPC’s international best practice regarding spatial and operational port scenarios formed the basis for a set of future development concepts for the port.
Benefit to the Client
With our master plan in hand, Port of Helsingborg is in a position to lead the discussion about their future development with their stakeholders and to shape a respective roadmap.
